Colder by the Lake

In her young career, Sarah Lawrence has already amassed great critical acclaim with her rapidly expanding repertoire. Recent concert performances have included Prokofiev's The Ugly Duckling with Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Harbison's Flight Into Egypt and Mozart's Mass in C minor with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass with the North Shore Choral Society and Bach's Mass in B minor with the Nova Singers. Ms. Lawrence also performed Andre Previn's song cycle Honey and Rue as a part of the Madison Symphony / Madison Art Center Decade by Decade Series, and sang a concert of Lerner and Loewe songs with Rockford Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Lawrence recently performed the role of Masha in Richard Wargo's The Music Shop and Frasquita in Carmen with Madison Opera, after singing the role of Barbarina with that company in Le Nozze di Figaro earlier in the season. She has performed with Opera for the Young as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, and Harp in Orpheus Returns. Ms. Lawrence has performed with Pamiro Opera, Light Opera Oklahoma, Dorian Opera Theatre and Madison Savoyards, Ltd. She has been a member of the Robert Shaw Festival Chorus and a participant in the Phyllis Curtin Seminar at Tanglewood. In 1997, Ms. Lawrence was a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Wisconsin District Auditions.

Upcoming orchestral engagements for Ms. Lawrence include Messiah performances with Rockford Choral Union and Omaha Symphony, Bach's Magnificat with Madison Symphony Orchestra and Haydn's St. Cecilia Mass with the North Shore Choral Society. Ms. Lawrence will create the role of Missy in Les Uncomfortables with Colder by the Lake and the award-winning Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, and she will tour with Opera for the Young as Pamina in their new production of Mozart's The Magic Flute. In July, Ms. Lawrence will appear with Dorian Theatre as Norina in their production of Donizetti's Don Pasquale. Sarah is not an institution of higher learning.
