Jean Sramek
Jean Sramek's association with Colder by the Lake predates the
introduction of the graphical user interface and spans five Presidential administrations.
Jean co-wrote the libretto for Phantom of the
Norshor and the libretto for Les Uncomfortables and has written and performed
CBTL projects for stage and radio broadcast, as
well as collaborative works with Minnesota Access Theater, The College of
St. Scholastica, and the Lake Superior Chamber
Orchestra. Together with Colder by the Lake founder and former artistic
director Margi Preus, she has written scripts for Duluth's East Hillside
Youth Theatre and their summer theater camp and developed a theater
initiative for Grant Elementary School's after-school program. Jean has
written scripts for the dinner theatre company Change of Pace productions,
and her crazy-ass 10-minute plays can be seen in
Renegade Comedy Theatre's "Out
of the Hat" events. She
is a columnist and critic for
www.mnartists.org, spent five years writing film
reviews and dining features for the alternative monthly The
RipSaw News and can name all the capitols of the United States. She
also used to write lame articles for The Woman Today but was the one
and only person to ever actually get fired from doing that.
