(Les Unc's) Char Taylor
Duluth native Charlotte Taylor,
is no stranger to opera in Duluth. She began singing in 1973 with the chorus in opera
productions of the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Taylor performed with Northland
Opera Theater Experience from 1991 through 1998, singing the roles of Mercedes in Carmen,
Annchen in Der Freischutz, Suzuki in Madame Butterfly, and Nicklaus in Tales
of Hoffman. She has performed with Duluth Light Opera in the role of the Mother in Amahl
and the Night Visitors and Cassilda in The Gondoliers. Ms. Taylor has also
performed with the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra, the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra
and the East Range Choral Society. She has been the soprano soloist at Pilgrim
Congregational Church since 1981 and Duluth's Temple Israel since 1991.
